He is currently working on his Master in International Relations and International Organization at the University of Groningen. TEIMUN 2010 was his first MUN experience and Jeen caught the MUN virus there. Since then, he has Chaired the Security Council at GrunnMUN 2011 and was a member of the Crisis Staff of TEIMUN 2011. At the upcoming TEIMUN conference in July, he will Chair the North Atlantic Council. His interests include music, reading, politics, football and wearing suits.

Frank Huisingh – Chair

Born half a year after the Dutch success in the European Championship 1988 and almost a year before the fall of the Berlin Wall, Frank grew up close to Amsterdam. Being interested in politics since the first years of high school, he decided to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in political science at the Radboud University in Nijmegen. Here he participated in the Radboud International MUN and joined the United Netherlands delegation in 2010/2011, participating in the Oxford International MUN and the Harvard National MUN. Due to a slow process of learning, MUN-ing and partying, he found out he got infected by the MUN-virus. When asked to chair the GA at TEIMUN 2011, he decided to join this awesome organization! Last summer he also participated in MUNIST, in Istanbul, before he started his Master’s degree at the Free University of Amsterdam, pursuing the Master ‘Law and Politics of International Security’.

Security Council

Paola Ivanova – Chair

Born in Sofia, Bulgaria, currently Paola is doing her second Masters’ degree - in International Relations at the University of Groningen. Prior to that, she holds a MA in Balkan and Slavic studies from the Sofia University and spent some time living and studying in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Zagreb, Croatia. The remarkable experience called “Model UN” changed Paola’s life in 2007 when she started her MUN career. From 2008 to 2011 she was the president of the Bulgarian Model United Nations conference, SOFIMUN. Her MUN experience also includes chairing positions of the Security Council and the Human Rights Council at various conferences, among others GIMUN, (Geneva), ZAGIMUN (Zagreb), MUNUSAL (Salamanca), MILMUN (Milan), BISMUN (Bucharest), NAPOMUN (Cluj-Napoca), MOSTIMUN (Mostar) and participating as a delegate at couple other national and international conferences. Another of Paola’s important activities is the Rotary International movement, where she is a member and currently serves as a Vice President of the Rotaract Club Sofia International. Whenever she gets a bit of free time, Paola is mastering her favourite sport – ice skating - and as a devoted football fan, is often to be seen supporting her favourite teams.

Chair: Frans Bos

Frans Bos is 23 years old and has been studying International Relations and International Organizations at the University of Groningen since September 2007. In December 2008 he participated for the first time in an MUN-setting, namely the Student Commission on Sustainable Development 2008. After this three-day conference he decided that he wanted more, therefore, in July 2009 he participated at TEIMUN 2009 and has been addicted to MUNs ever since.

In addition to participation in the aforementioned MUNs he participated at GrunnMUN 2010 in Groningen, C’MUN 2010 in Barcelona, TEIMUN 2010 in The Hague and SMUN 2010 in Stockholm. Furthermore, he was member of the Board of Directors of TEIMUN 2011 where he held the position of Participants Coordinator for students from Africa, Asia, and Latin-America. This year he will be most enthusiastically Chairing the Security Council at TEIMUN 2012 and GrunnMUN 2012.

Economic and Social Council:

Chair:  Babak Mohammadzadeh

A native of the picturesque town of Rotterdam, Babak is 23 years old and has recently completed a Masters in International Relations at the London School of Economics with a particular emphasis on the history and politics of the Middle East. Having spent a good deal of 2011 working for the Dutch Representation to the UN Organizations in Rome, Babak is looking forward to explore the finer details of international dancing moves at the next epic TEIMUN Global Village. Babak had the privilege to attend a number of conferences in Nijmegen, Amsterdam, London, Utrecht and Groningen. His TEIMUN curriculum includes co-Chairing the Human rights Council in 2010 and the Security Council in 2011, amazing experiences that persuaded him to sign up for another year: currently he is TEIMUN’s Under-Secretary General. Aside from being a firm believer in the purpose of the Model UN philosophy, Babak heartily enjoys the atmosphere at GrunnMUN and looks forward to engage in yet another challenging intellectual experience.

Chair: Wouter van der Staaij

Since 2009, Wouter van de Staaij has been studying International Relations in the home-town of the TEIMUN foundation: Groningen. As the Chairman of the typical Dutch ‘Studentenvereniging’ called Unitas, Wouter makes sure that he is not missing out anything of the vibrant student-life in this wonderful city.  Besides his studies and his activities for Unitas, Wouter is an active member of Amnesty International. He has been volunteering for this Human Rights organization since 2006. In the summer of 2010 he travelled to Morocco to represent the Dutch section of Amnesty at the annual North-African summer camp of this organization. In the subsequent summer, Wouter represented the Kingdom of Spain in the North Atlantic Council (NAC) at TEIMUN 2011. Together with a great co-delegate, Spain unleashed a devastating War of Candy during this conference between the NAC and the Human Rights Council. This quarrel eventually had to be solved by a highly-politicized ICJ ruling. Prior to TEIMUN 2011, Wouter participated in GrunnMUN 2010, IMUNA 2009 and chaired at the Model European Parliament Rotterdam in 2010.
