Staff
The TEIMUN Staff is responsible for the intellectual content of the conference. They determine the various council topics to be debated, and they write the background papers for their respective councils, so that delegates can deepen their understanding of the topics that are to be discussed. During the conference they will chair and superivse the debates in order to lead them towards fruitful resolutions.
The staff consists of 19 people: a Chair and Vice-Chair for most councils as well as for the Crisis Staff, a Registrar and two Advocates for the ICJ, and finally the Secretary General and Under-Secretary General. The staff members have participated in the TEIMUN conference at least once and are appointed by the Secretary General after application interviews on the previous year 's conference.

Cees Heere
Secretary General
Born and raised in the Netherlands, Cees is 21 years old. He holds a BA from University College Utrecht, and has recently finished his Master’s degree in History of International Relations at the London School of Economics. His interests encompass the history of diplomacy, contemporary African politics, the rise and fall of empires, and pretty much anything else he once read a good book on.
He started doing Model United Nations in London at LIMUN 2008, and fell in love with it instantly. Since then he has attended a grand total of sixteen conferences in London, The Hague, Nijmegen, Utrecht and Hamburg. He also held a string of Chairing positions, including Chair of the Security Council at TEIMUN 2010 and of the Historical Council in 2011, where, for a few days, he attempted to bring the bombastic furore of Sir Winston Churchill back to life.
During those preciously few moments when he is not tending to his studies or involved in MUN, Cees enjoys reading, a glass of good Scotch, Indian cuisine and British comedy, in various combinations.
-
Babak Mohammadzadeh
Under Secretary General
A native of the picturesque town of Rotterdam, Babak is 23 years old and has recently completed a Masters in International Relations at the London School of Economics with a particular emphasis on the history and politics of the Middle East. Babak had the privilege to attend a number of conferences in Nijmegen, Amsterdam, London, Utrecht and Groningen. His TEIMUN curriculum includes co-Chairing the Human rights Council in 2010 and the Security Council in 2011, amazing experiences that will definitely be levelled to the 2012 TEIMUN vibe. Aside from being a firm believer in the purpose of the Model UN philosophy, Babak heartily enjoys the social atmosphere at TEIMUN and looks forward to engage in yet another challenging intellectual experience.

Christiana Carson
General Assembly - Chair
Christiana Carson is half Swiss and half American. She grew up in Zürich, Switzerland and spent a year in Chile when she was sixteen. After finishing High School, she moved to Geneva to study International Relations. She has just finished her degree and is doing an internship at the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in Geneva. During the spring of 2012 it will be possible to spot her somewhere in the United States. If you do, she would love to have a drink and a chat.
Christiana caught the TEIMUN virus in 2009, when she represented France in the now extinct UNEP. She has been Chairing TEIMUN councils ever since. In 2010, she Chaired the Historical Council, in 2011 the ECOSOC and she will now Chair the General Assembly. If there is anything you need to know about Christiana before meeting her, it is the fact that she has a peculiar sense of humor – be patient, and you will learn to love her randomness.

Stefanie Zauner
General Assembly - Chair
Stefanie was born in Vienna in 1987. She is studying International Development at the University of Vienna, though she is currently living in Madrid, Spain, where she is working, finishing her master’s thesis and will be doing an internship at the Austrian embassy.
The first contact she had with MUNs was during her one-year academic exchange in Belgium, at the K.U. Leuven, where she represented China at a simulation of the Security Council. There, she got caught by the MUN-fever and could not be healed so far. Since then she attended TEIMUN 2010 as well as OxIMUN 2010 and had the great privilege to Chair the Human Rights Council at an amazing TEIMUN 2011.
When Stefanie is not busy studying, working or debating about world politics, she can be found singing, going out with friends, reading a good book, or traveling around the world, equipped with her camera(s) and ready to capture every special moment.

Currently, Jerry is reading for an MSc in Carbon Management at the University of Edinburgh where he also researches and publishes on the role of cross-national differences in international economics and -business.
2011 was Jerry’s first TEIMUN year, after which he became so enthused that he saw no other choice but to contribute to this year’s quarter-century anniversary. Last summer he also participated in MUNIST, in Istanbul, before he started his Master’s degree at the Free University of Amsterdam, pursuing the Master ‘Law and Politics of International Security’. She also helped organise the Urios Model United Nations delegations in Utrecht during her Bachelor, and continued giving workshops during her LLM within the Cambridge Model United Nations Society.
Last year’s TEIMUN conference was amongst the most challenging ICJ sessions she participated in. The Court’s attempts at solving its very own Eritrea - Ethiopia dispute verged on creating a new landscape for the use of force, State responsibility and occupation in less than a week!
Natalie can be found debating at all hours on all topics, from international politics to the ideal flavour of chocolate, and is frequently seeking links between gastronomy and world peace. She also regularly evades any brain-crunching activities with long walks, jazz dance and a constant quest for new, inspirational music.

Ernestine Fagel
Ernestine is 23 and is a student at the University of Groningen. She is a couple of credits away from obtaining her Bachelor’s degree in International and European Law with a minor in criminal law. Over the course of her studies she developed a love for criminal justice, which has only grown stronger during an internship with the Office of the Attorney General in Washington D.C., in the fall of 2011. She found that she is particularly interested in transnational organized crime and the role of international organizations in fighting this type of crime. Consequently, the UN always has a way of showing up in whatever she is working on.
She was Participant Coordinator of the Board of Directors of TEIMUN 2011 and could not bear the thought of not being part of TEIMUN 2012. She now constitutes the Crisis Staff with Sam Trompert, and she can't wait to come back to The Hague for another memorable week with the amazing TEIMUN family!
