2014 – A new year’s wish
Dear TEIMUN friends,
Writing this New Year’s message to all of you gives me the opportunity to look back at the first four months of our Board year. We were installed as the 27th Board of Directors at September 1st 2013. Since then, we have been working on the Foundation, and the GrunnMUN and TEIMUN Conferences. Right now, the ambitious plans for GrunnMUN and TEIMUN 2014 have been formulated and we are working really hard to accomplish them. I cannot wait for all of you to see what it is that we are so busy with all year.
The Board of Directors has been undertaken trips to Brussels and The Hague, and all the people we meet – whether they are Dutch ministers, members of the Boards of multinational corporations, professors at Universities, or lobbyists in Brussels – encourage us to keep on doing what the TEIMUN Foundation has been doing for years. In organizing the Conferences, we do more than just organizing a week in which students can debate, socialize or get to know each other. We bring 250 students from more than 55 states together, and in doing so we create a platform where there is room for all different opinions, religions, beliefs and values. Sharing all these differences creates understanding, and encourages all participants to look beyond their own points of view and their own beliefs and opinions. Last year I attended TEIMUN as a delegate, and it was great to meet students from all over the world.
I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all the best for 2014. May it be filled with a lot of joy, love and friendship. Wherever you are, and with whomever you have been celebrating New Year’s Eve, I hope that 2014 will be a year better than all the ones you have had before. I hope to see a lot of you in March in Groningen, or in July in The Hague. Have a great 2014!
Chairman Board of Directors 2014
