Keeping the TEIMUN Community Safe

The TEIMUN team is thrilled to once again be able to organize a physical conference here in The Hague. Nevertheless, this is done in close adherence to rules and precautions set by the Dutch RIVM and the GGD Haaglanden. During your stay in The Hague, you are required to follow all pandemic-containment rules announced by these organs. As an attendee of TEIMUN 2021, it is essential that you follow a number of key precautions at all TEIMUN-organized activities, so as to make sure that TEIMUN 2021 is a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone:

Please arrive at the location of your council at the designated time slot. Do not arrive more than 10 minutes prior to your communicated registration time.

At all times, keep a distance of 1.5 meters from other conference attendees. Stay and socialize within your council and/or assigned socials group whenever attending formal and informal events of the TEIMUN conference.

You are required to wear a face mask at all times when on the grounds of a TEIMUN venue, whether professional or informal. Although all our venues are adapted for adequate social distancing, you are only allowed to remove your mask for eating, drinking, and when addressing the council from a sufficient distance (subject to chairs’ discretion).

The TEIMUN team will ask you general and specific questions related to your health. Please answer these questions truthfully. We will keep a confidential record of your answers for up to two weeks after the conference, at which point it shall be destroyed.

If you show any COVID-19 symptoms or feel unwell within 10 days of the first day of the conference, please do not attend the conference and inform the participants coordinator via

But Just in Case…

The TEIMUN team has taken all the necessary precautions to make sure that your TEIMUN 2021 is as safe as possible, and that neither your nor anybody else’s health is put at risk. Nevertheless, there remains a very small chance that you or your fellow delegates may become exposed to COVID-19 outside of a TEIMUN venue. Should you become unwell with COVID-19-related symptoms during the conference, the rule remains: put on your face mask and inform a member of the TEIMUN staff immediately. Your cooperation in this regard is essential, and we guarantee that any information you disclose to us is guarded with utmost confidentiality.* If you are part of a delegation, we nevertheless must inform your delegation leader.

In any case, it will not be possible to continue your attendance of the TEIMUN conference and any other TEIMUN-organized event, and your attendance fee may be partially refunded based on the information stipulated in our cancellation policy. If you reside in the Netherlands, you will be asked to return to your place of residence and quarantine for up to 14 days. If you are joining the TEIMUN conference from abroad, you will most likely have to quarantine at your accommodation for a similar period of time prior to being able to return to your home country. Please be aware that the TEIMUN Foundation is not responsible for any unforeseen costs associated with and caused by quarantine obligations you may be asked to adhere to. It is therefore essential that you adopt a proactive attitude in minimizing the likelihood of your own exposure.**

Should it become necessary for you to quarantine at your accommodation prior to returning to your home country, you will be responsible for arranging all accommodation and travel matters yourself. Nevertheless, we at the TEIMUN Foundation will provide you with all the information you may need in order to make your quarantine as seamless as possible.
