Presenting TEIMUN 2022 Keynote Speakers

We are honoured to welcome three experts from multiple disciplines and walks of life as our esteemed speakers at the TEIMUN 2022 conference. Our speakers will present keynote speeches and address delegates at the Opening Ceremony.

Master of Ceremonies:
Jasper de Boer

We are very pleased to introduce Jasper de Boer as the host of the TEIMUN 2022 opening ceremony. We’ve had the honour to receive Jasper as TEIMUN’s host in 2018 and 2019 and are very happy to welcome him once again. Jasper de Boer grew up in The Hague and considers it one of the world’s most important cities for international governance, peace and (International) law. He is greatly looking forward to meeting this year’s participants from all around the world and hopes that, with the delegates, he can make the Opening Ceremony an inspirational start and the best kick-off TEIMUN has ever seen.

Keynote Speaker:
Dagmar Oudshoorn

Dagmar Oudshoorn (1972) is the Director of Amnesty International the Netherlands. She has held this position since January 2020. Amnesty is a global movement that campaigns for a world where human rights are enjoyed by all.

In 2021, Mrs. Oudshoorn was also the Chair of the advisory board for the Dialogue Group Slavery Past.

Mrs. Oudshoorn has a broad range of experience; she has worked with juvenile delinquents, was the alderman of the sub municipality Feijenoord Rotterdam, the Mayor of the municipality of Uithoorn and was a member of several supervisory boards. Before joining Amnesty, Mrs. Oudshoorn was the Head of Operations at the Amsterdam police.

Keynote Speaker:
Teresa Finik 

Teresa Finik is a senior advisor at the Canadian federal government with over 20 years of experience in developing policy and providing advice and analysis in a range of fields including gender equality, international human rights, international development assistance, transport, public infrastructure, and health/public health.

From December 2018 to December 2019, Ms. Finik was the Manager of International and Intergovernmental Relations at Women and Gender Equality Canada, Canada’s federal ministry mandated to advance gender equality. In December 2019, Ms. Finik was posted to NATO to serve as a Women, Peace and Security advisor in the Human Security Unit at NATO Headquarters in Brussels. One of her main responsibilities involves guiding the monitoring and reporting on the implementation of NATO’s Women, Peace and Security Action Plan.

Ms. Finik holds a Master’s degree in Political Science from Carleton University, Ottawa, Canada (2000). Her research paper focused on truth and reconciliation for countries in post-conflict transition.

Keynote Speaker:
Maxime Voorbraak

Maxime Voorbraak was Secretary-General of Teimun in 2018. She studied Law, as well as Conflict Studies and Human Rights at Utrecht University and currently works at the humanitarian aid department at the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The TEIMUN Foundation is celebrating a Lustrum year: the big 35!

There is no one better to share this special celebration with than our delegates at TEIMUN 2022. Therefore, we are throwing a Rooftop Party on the first day of TEIMUN to celebrate the beginning of an amazing conference week and our big birthday. Come join us for drinks, snacks and cake!
