Available Positions

There are two positions within the TEIMUN Secretariat, split between internal and external affairs. Which suits you best?

Secretary-General

As the Secretary-General, you are ultimately responsible for the TEIMUN Secretariat as well as its internal affairs. This entails working closely with the TEIMUN Board of Directors, as well as with the chairs of the conferences. You will also assist the Deputy Secretary-General with external affairs. The Secretary-General should be:

–  Organised and structured
– Responsible and representative
– Flexible and able to work well under pressure
– Not afraid to take charge and say no
– Knowledgeable about MUN and international relations

Deputy Secretary-General

The Deputy Secretary-General is responsible for the external affairs of the Secretariat. They act as the main contact person for external parties and are in charge of making new partnerships, organising simulations etc. Additionally, the Deputy-Secretary General is in charge of the logistics of the Secretariat and supports the Secretary-General in their function. As the Deputy-Secretary General, you should be:

– Organised and structured
– Approachable, professional and flexible 
– Patient and communicative
– Knowledgeable about MUN and international relations

How to Apply

If you are interested in joining the TEIMUN Secretariat, it is important that you are based in Groningen and that you are available for the entire academic year 2024/2025. Your responsibilities only ends a few weeks after TEIMUN is over, and TEIMUN usually takes place mid-July. Furthermore, it is important to note that taking on a Secretariat position is a huge responsibility that should not be taken lightly. We expect all members to be involved and to make time for their tasks. You should count on spending at least 5-8 hours per week on the TEIMUN Secretariat, although the hours vary throughout the year.
