Behind the Scenes

The Journey of the Film’s Creation

In November 2021, veteran filmmaker and former TEIMUN Secretary General Nathan Lauer formed the TEIMUN Movie Committee, to realise his idea for a feature film about an MUN-themed murder mystery.

From late 2021 until early 2022, an international team of passionate filmmakers came to together and started casting actors, mobilising extras, securing locations and developing the look and feel of the movie. Following months of tests and rehearsals, shooting began in April 2022.

Over 4 months, the cast and crew of “Who Killed Kenya” executed over 25 film shoots, in such places as the University’s Academy Building and the seat of the provincial government of Groningen. Principle photography ended in July 2022, beginning a year-long post-production phase.

On the 1st of July, 2023, the movie premiered in Groningen, going on to be selected at the Bucharest International Film Festival, the European Film Festival Göttingen and the Las Cruces International Film Festival in the US.
